New species of frogs found in Amazonian rain forest

6 new species of rain frogs discovered in Ecuador.

The new species were all found within a single stretch of Amazonian rain forest, in the Guayllabamba river basin. The discovery was made by two researchers, Miguel Ángel Barba and Dr Jorge Correa, who had an important role in their discovery.

However, the research still needs confirmation by other researchers. They were able to extract DNA from skin samples from two of the new species, and compared them with other frog species to prove that they were indeed new.
