Ticketmaster has Taylor Swift fans seeing red as Swifties get shut out of tour presale tickets with the help of a new “Taylor Swift Fan Club.”
In a bid to encourage fans to buy presale tickets online, the company has decided to introduce a new “Fan Club” so it can offer tickets to presale fans, who can then resell to fans who didn’t buy tickets earlier on the secondary market.
“We’re excited to bring a new Taylor Swift Fan Club to our presale tickets that will give fans the chance to purchase tickets and to be able to resell them for a profit,” the company said in a statement. “We’ve also announced a variety of ticket benefits and perks for fans who participate in the presale that are available at the time of purchase.”
The new Taylor Swift Fan Club is being launched in conjunction with a “Fan Pack” promotion, which allows fans buying presales that will be delivered in February to get the same benefits if they are able to resell tickets for a profit before the tour begins in March.
In order to sign up for the Taylor Swift Fan Club, you would be required to buy a single presale ticket when you order online, and then you would need to buy a single presale ticket to get the benefits from the Fan Club. This means that you would need to spend $400.00 on a single presale ticket before the Taylor Swift Fan Club was available, which would mean that the value of the presale tickets would likely be reduced on the secondary market.
Presale fans tend to get a discount on presale tickets from major ticketmaster outlets like Ticketmaster.com or resale.com.
Presales for Taylor Swift’s new tour begin February 7th and will include concert tickets as well as VIP experiences. Presale tickets will be available until February 11th at 10AM ET.
In addition, Taylor Swift is offering special concert presales for the tour. The Presale Package includes a “Frozen” ticket, four meet & greet tickets, and a private meet & greet. The Presale Package ends on February 11th and the Frozen Party is included in a VIP pass.
